Artist Tim Breaux – In the past the farmer prepared the field. He removed last year’s harvest and added fertilizer and lime. The over-seeding could wait a few more years.

In the future winter will come.  The farmer will have stored the hay in the barn nearby out of the weather.   His delivery of hay will be met with eagerness from the herd in the otherwise stark cold landscape.

With a memory of the past and an eye to the future the farmer labors in the present. The second and final cutting is completed but the work is not done.  Large clouds form in the sky and warn of the possibility of rain.  After lunch he will fuel the tractor and finish the day.
